Tim Bacon
is a Team Lead and Senior Architect at Ternary, and regularly
serves as a speaker at agile conferences and special interest
groups. He has been heavily involved with the Extreme Tuesday
group in London and the XP Day conferences, which he helped
bring to fruition. Prior to joining Ternary, Tim worked as
an agile software consultant for over 4 years, both alongside
experts like Martin Fowler at ThoughtWorks and as the founder
of his own company, Prime Eight Ltd. He has helped hundreds
of software professionals in their quests for "extreme
excellence", drawing on his own 12 year background developing
software at blue chip companies in the UK and Switzerland.
Tim is perhaps best known as an expert on team retrospection
in an agile software context; he discovered and wrote about
ways that formal retrospections provide software teams with
an especially effective ritual for continuous improvement. |

“Tim
is a great agile team leader. Long ago he mastered the secrets
and disciplines of delivering excellent software systems on
time and under budget, and he continually brings compassion,
openness, deep listening, and warmth to every interaction.
Tim inspires his teams and projects to higher and higher levels
of excellence, and celebrates every success with – well
– beer and pizza. Few in the world can match Tim's level
of mastery of XP. I feel extraordinarily fortunate and grateful
for the opportunity to work with him.”
